Polyamide membrane with nanocluster assembly structure for desalination

چکیده

The structure of the polyamide (PA) nanofilm formed via interfacial polymerization (IP) is vital to permeance-selectivity composite membranes. However, it challenging control morphology (e.g., nodules, ridge-and-valley) PA due fast IP kinetics. Herein, we deconstructed kinetic pathways probe and demonstrated that (I) main skeleton was composed sub-10 nm nanoclusters; (II) growth assembly nanoclusters shaped structure. Furthermore, controlled adjusting monomers' stoichiometric ratio at new reaction interface, resulted nodules with size surface characteristics endowed tunable water-salt transport properties.
